Backups
Backups are a durable way to save your computer's state at a given point in time so you can restore it later. OpenScaler can back up a running computer (no downtime required to start the backup).
Looking for Snapshots?
For short-lived local rollback (not off-site protection), use Snapshots instead.
How to backup your computer
To backup your computer:
Navigate to the "Backup" tab in your computer's page
Click on the "Create Backup" button and provide some details about your backup (e.g. name, description, etc.)
Pricing
Note that backup pricing depends on the size of backup file, which is roughly equal to the current usage of your computer.
Click on the "Create Backup" button to create your backup, and give it some time to complete.
DO NOT turn your computer on or off!
The backup process requires your computer to remain in the same state to complete successfully, so please do not attempt to turn it on or off during backup.
